Instructions for Authors
1. Scope and Eligibility of Submissions
SCOPE publishes original research articles, review papers, professional papers and case studies that align with the aims and thematic areas of the journal.
The journal encourages multidisciplinary, applied and problem-oriented research that integrates technology, organization, management, economics, law and innovation in contemporary social and business contexts.
All submissions must represent an original contribution to knowledge and must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.
2. Language
The primary language of the journal is English.
Manuscripts may also be submitted in Croatian, Bosnian or Serbian (Latin script), provided that the title, abstract and keywords are supplied in English.
Authors are responsible for the linguistic and grammatical accuracy of their manuscripts.
3. Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the journal’s online submission system.
Upon submission, authors are required to provide:
- the complete manuscript prepared according to the technical guidelines
- all required metadata (title, abstract, keywords, author information, ORCID identifier)
Authors will receive confirmation of receipt.
4. Peer Review Process
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess relevance, originality and alignment with the journal’s thematic scope.
Manuscripts meeting the basic criteria are subject to a double-blind peer review, in which at least two independent reviewers evaluate the scientific quality, methodological rigor and contribution of the work.
Based on reviewers’ reports, the Editorial Board may decide:
- Accept
- Accept with minor revisions
- Revise and resubmit
- Reject
All manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening prior to peer review.
5. Ethical Standards and Conflict of Interest
Authors are responsible for ensuring research integrity and ethical conduct.
Manuscripts must be original, all sources must be properly cited and any potential conflicts of interest must be clearly disclosed.
The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification or duplicate submission.
6. Technical Formatting Guidelines
Manuscript Format
- Microsoft Word format (.docx)
- A4 page size
- Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
- Line spacing: Single
Length
The recommended manuscript length is 4,000–8,000 words (approximately up to 16 pages), including abstract, tables, figures and references.
Review articles and case studies may exceed this range with prior approval from the Editorial Board.
7. Manuscript Structure
The manuscript should include the following elements:
- Title
- Author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s)
- ORCID identifier
- Abstract (150–250 words)
- 3–5 keywords
- Introduction
- Theoretical or conceptual framework
- Methodology
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- References
Headings should be clearly structured and numbered where appropriate.
8. Abstract and Keywords
The abstract must clearly present the purpose of the study, methodology, main findings and conclusions.
Following the abstract, authors should provide 3–5 keywords that accurately reflect the content of the manuscript.
9. Tables and Figures
Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively in the order they appear in the text.
- Table titles should appear above the table.
- Figure captions should appear below the figure.
- Sources must be clearly indicated if the material is not original.
10. Citation and References (APA Style)
All manuscripts must follow the APA citation style (7th edition).
In-text citations should include the author’s surname and year of publication. For direct quotations, the page number must also be provided.
Examples:

- (Smith & Johnson, 2021)
- (Smith et al., 2022)
- (Smith, 2020, p. 45)
The reference list must appear at the end of the manuscript under the heading References, arranged alphabetically by the surname of the first author.
Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all bibliographic data, including DOI numbers and URLs where available.
11. Anonymity of Manuscripts
To ensure a double-blind review process, the manuscript must not contain any information that reveals the identity of the author(s).
Author details must be submitted separately through the online submission system.
12. Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools
If AI-assisted tools (e.g., for language editing or text generation) have been used, their use must be transparently disclosed in the manuscript.
Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors.
Authors remain fully responsible for the content of their manuscript.
13. Copyright and Open Access
SCOPE is published as a fully open-access journal.
Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal the right to publish and distribute the article under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
14. Article Processing Charges
The journal currently does not charge any submission or publication fees, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
